Some software seems to be faster now, but some other has problems like Freedroid which plays the music too fast. And overclocking doesn't work anymore. |
The photoview is kind of a badass now. It wasn't really worth mentioning before, but now it's MUCH faster with big (digital camera sized) pictures. Explorer is much less useless. I like this version. |

sandisk 1 gig sd card, formatted blank to fat32.. img file placed on, unit boots, nothing changes, no firmware scrren, img file delted |

Same as obioneshinobi's comment above. Does anyone have the solution on how to upgrade the firmware using a Sandisk card. I tried the 1.40 patch included in this download. The patch works but still says I've got 1.20 firmware. I just now have an updated settings menu and movieplayer enhancements etc. |

omg, someone please throw me a bone here.. what am i doing wrong? why does my unit not upgrade? (firmware)

Hey obioneshinobi, I managed to get it to work. Reformat your SD card. Insert your card, right click on the drive and choose Format. Choose FAT32 and Default allocation size. Volume Label can be what you like. Now extract this firmware to your card and it should update. |

I am having the same issue with a 1GB sandisk card. Tried re-formatting, still no good :S. Are there any alternate updaters for 1.4.0 yet? |
The Firmware 1.4.0 is good, but some software-games seems to be ran faster now then before, like puzzle game MEMORY, any one can fix this? |
The audio playing at double speed is a problem brought up in the v1.4 update. The only existing fix at the moment is for the softwares author to recompile the program with some new libs. I have posted a temporary solution for devs at https://www.gp32x.com/board/index.php?showtopic=25354&view=findpost&p=357786
BTW: I will be updating my games (including Memory) to fix the audio problems sometime this week. |

i got it working; for everyone having problems, ill tell you this: it seems that you MUST use a card reader. Formatting a SD card while the machine is connected to the device directly does not work |
I put the firmware on the root of the SD card, removed it from GP2x, switched on the GP2x-once on the menu screen- then put the SD card back in, used the utility to update then reset the GP2x and it updated to 1.4. |

I've tried everything I've seen here, but I can't flash using my Sandisk 256, nor my Toshiba 1GB (which I think was labeled PNY, bought from CompUSA, but I peeled it off). I splurged and bought the SanDisk Ultra II 2GB, which BETTER "work great." Any known cases of units that just refuse to flash? (I got mine from Lik-Sang with 1.2.1 already installed) |

"it seems that you MUST use a card reader. Formatting a SD card while the machine is connected to the device directly does not work" can anyone confirm this? |
I have a 1 GB (Labelled Integral) sd card and it will simply not flash at boot time. I have reformatted using two different card readers and using the GP2X. The only way I have been able to flash update is by using one of the updaters from this site. Patch runs ok, and shows v1.4, but firmware is 1.2 at boot time. ARRRRGH. Please somebody write an updater soon! |

My tuppence worth. I am useless with this sort of thing. I tried to upgrade by simply copying the files over to my working card and running the upgrade, it failed. So I took a an old 64Mb card I had formatted it to FAT32 Default allocation size, in a card reader and copied the files. Booted it perfect and upgraded perfect first time. From 1.1.0 to 1.4.0, now to see it it has made any difference! |
I finally got my GP2X to upgrade after reading this wiki page. https://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/Firmware_Upgrade
It seems to be very pick about the partition type. I tried to use a Sandisk 1G card to upgrade and it was formatted as FAT32 but it's default partion type was FAT16. So if your having problems getting the upgrade to boot, give this a go. |

An extremely good post. This post sums up for me just what this topic is all about and some of the major benefits that can be produced by knowing about it just like you. A friend once pointed out that you have a totally different approach when you do something for certain as opposed to when you’re simply just toying with it. In the case of this specific topic, I believe you’re taking, or start to go for, a more professional plus thorough approach to what and how you’re writing, which in turn helps you to continue to get better and help others who don’t know anything at all about what you have discussed here. Thank you. video security system review

I’d need to examine with you here. Which is not one thing I usually do! I take pleasure in studying a submit that will make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to remark! personal task management
