If you can't stand start up sounds or don't want to announce to the the world that you've turned on your GP2X, try a bit of silence.
Put it on an SD card and start your GP2X while holding Start + Select. A FIRMWARE UPGRADING screen will show, then it should load the menu. Reboot and don't hear anything :)
