| Warcraft 1 for gp2x using dosbox with files(shareware). You need to adjust the controls and to get sound you need to adjust the sound in the config files. To edit controls sounds speeds and etc its all in the mapper.txt war.gpe and dosbox.conf. All you need to do is unzip(its 7z file) and put it on your sd card and go to the war folder and click on war.gpe an it will run. More to come |

After some investigation I placed the "dosbox" folder on the root of my SD card. I executed war.gpe and Warcraft loaded. I don't know what GP2X buttons do what but Start quits at the main menu, B does something and so does Vol+.
I don't actually find this game to be playable. It is painfully slow, there is no sound, the Warcraft mouse pointer isn't useable and there is nothing to do except scroll a limited distance around the start location. |

| maybe it is more useful if your zipfile contains a pre-configured config file. the idea of special game packages for dosbox is great!

I've just worked out the format for the mapper.txt file. The key to understanding it is to download the DOSBox release by bOingball and using the Tyrian mapper.txt file as a template.
You will need to know which keyboard key is assigned to each GP2X button by default and there is a list here. Be aware that from my tests I've found this list to be incorrect regarding buttons L and R. They have simply been listed the wrong way around. I managed to create a partially useable mapper.txt file for Kings Bounty but there are a lot of keys to assign to buttons and all these keys have to be found first.
One thing is for sure though, you won't yet get games that rely on the mouse working because "Mouse emulation is not supported, and there is no known patch to substitute mouse movement with keyboard keys which are emulated on the GP2X's buttons". I have not found any way of selecting units in Warcraft using the keyboard because the game is essentially mouse driven with keyboard shortcuts.
I'm not sure who here understands the format of the mapper.txt file but I can write up a tutorial if this is required. Just let me know.

| thunor have you tried to qfg 3 yet really with keyboard mode only. it works i will make a video of me playing qfg3 with sound and good controls. So where def keepping qfg3 i want to delete strife becuase that was an experiment gone to hell. warcraft is almost ready with sound. Thanks |
