Can't get any roms to load. The bar fully loads then just goes back to the rom select screen... Am I missing something? |
It works for me. Although I used to have problems as well.
If you email me, dogeymon@gmail.com, I could just upload my folder online and you can just download it paste it on your card. Maybe mine has something yours doesn't. |
Could the marquees be added on the next release, and could the menu buttons be changed to the same for each menu (eg. B to select/play) instead of different ones. (I'm forever changing the options by accident.) Global options would be nice also. (Instead of having to configure each game seperately, screen size etc.) |
I've found a way to set the global settings, just rename the 'delete.me' file (in the roms folder) to 'default.sms'. Load this as you would a normal rom and set your global settings, when you start it, it will go back to the menu, and these settings will be saved for all games.
You can still alter the settings per game as these overide the default. |
...and could 'START' be changed to 'MENU' on the menu screens as the Wiz doesn't have a 'START' button. |
This plays Game Gear games in a very small window. The larger aspect ratio doesn't really work. It just spreads out the colors, but doesn't necessarily portray the game as it was on the original game gear. Does that make sense? |
How could I get the full screen mode for sms games ? |
aspect ratio is blocked on 1:1, can't change it, why ? |

Is anyone still working on this emulator?? I'm hoping for fullscreen support, and the tearing problem to be fixed. They fixed tearing in the Genesis emulator. Whatever they did, can't they do it with other emulators as well..... like tell the other guys what to do? |
Will no one ever update this emulator? Do the creators have a website? Or email address? I really wish we could get some fullscreen support for the Game Gear, and the Sega Master.
I'll paypal a donation! |
Will there be SG-1000 support? SG-1000 ROMs load and play sound, but nothing shows up on screen. |
This isn't a bad gamegear emulator... uh. well it's the ONLY one as far as I know for Wiz. I'd like to see this improved. Most games work well, but there's no scaling / tearing fix. I can see this becoming a very good emulator with a little work :) |
It's been a while now. I'd love to see a simple update to this.. GG/SMS emulators on inferior systems run circles around AlexKidd2x in its current state. Even on DS (S8DS and ApprenticeMinusDS were incredible for the hardware it was on!) A GP2x Wiz should blow those systems away. at the standard 533 mhz, it should be more than enough for proper screen rotation (diagonal fix,) and full-screen stretching. |

@ Darmakwolf: Could you work on it with the source code? You sound like you know what you're talking about. |
c'mooon. full screen PLEASE. like... within 1 year? at least? )= |
@ Darmakwolf - I know, it sucks. I can't help but feel a little abandoned with the WIZ when it comes to the emulators I really love. I do realize these things take hard work (for all I know). If you wanna check for sourcecode, go to this awesome website by this other guy:
https://lostsite.altervista.org/wiz/?page_id=63
Whole lotta goodies there! |
I don't feel abandoned, but many people do because they expect it to be a ridiculously perfect psx/n64-emulating-beast. I bought it for nes, snes, gba, gb/c, sega genesis/gg/sms, and commodore gaming. For those needs, the Wiz is absolutely wonderful. And now with PicoDrive supporting SMS/GG, there isn't much more left to want besides classic Mac emulation =P |
I didn't mind having a dedicated SMS/GG emulator. The Picodrive one still needs work. Game Gear is all messed up. |
Well if they'd simply make AlexKidd a little better, we'd have nothing to complain about - I wouldnt mind a dedicated emulator either, but it needs in the very least full screen support. |
