How to upgrade
---------------------------------
Note: You must have AT LEAST v1.1.0 installed first! If you're on v1.0.x, first update the 1.1.0 and THEN to 1.2.1.
1. Extract and copy files to root folder of your SD
(6 files - polluxb, uImage, uImageUP, update.gz, vfat.img, wiz_ubifs.img)
* You'd better have 1GB freespace for your SD since total size is about 800MB.
2. Insert SD and turn on your Wiz with pressing R button
3. You can release R button after upgrade screeen appeared
4. Upgrade will take about 15 minutes
5. You must re-calibrate your touch-screen; the previous value is initiallized.
Besides various bugfixes, this firmware needs to be installed to play commercial games. |

Installed just fine here, 1.2.1. Instructions:
1. Put all files from the .zip into root of SD card
2. Turn Wiz on while holding R-shoulder pressed
3. When "Firmware Upgrage" appears, let go of R and wait ~10 minutes
4. When "Firmware upgrade complete" appears, reboot Wiz |

| Firmware confirmed successful install. Version 1.2.1 - 2009.9.2 reported in SETTINGS>Information. |

| Installed flawlessly within minutes. Correct firmware version is displayed at the settings information screen. Diagonal tearing is almost completely gone, but is still slightly visible in some stuff.
Just do as Alex said and your GP2X Wiz will be running this latest firmware within minutes.

Don't go calling it fake before you do some research. It is only 84.94 mb because it uses high compression. Search around on the forums and you will see EvilDragon's post about this firmware. THIS IS NOT FAKE! |

| This worked great until the two files it creates got erased. Can someone PLEASE upload the 2 files. My system is bricked without those files. |

| Installing now. A flashy firmware upgrade screen is visible and a slowly increasing red bar at the top of the screen. Can't wait till it reaches the end!

| A few more details to mention. This firmware apparently flashes the entire unit - so don't reboot part way. I've heard tell that some people have bricked their units.
Additionally, updating from 1.0.0 to 1.2.1 - the update never finished it just said 'Upgrading' forever.
Updating from 1.1.0 to 1.2.1 finished normally. |

| Works fine so far, it takes less than a half hour to flash, I don't know exactly how long it took as I didn't time it. The tearing seems to be less noticeable now, and I've noticed that when I turn off the unit now, the sound quits before the video now. And as always, make sure your batteries are charged before trying to flash anything!! |

| Updated fine, in about five minutes. Works normally. Can't say I've had any problems with the diagonal tearing so far. |

| Installed successfully for me. However, I still see the diagonal on the screen in many apps (AlexKidd, GnGeo, etc.). Has not fixed much then on my side. |

| I lost access to the Nan drive and for some reason the updated does not complete. Any suggestions anyone? If none, I’ll switch back to the factory shipped firmware until there is a proper release. Thank you all in advance. |

Just got a gp2x wiz and am trying to upgrade the firmware.
It says my total memory of my wiz is 698mb
Does that sound correct to anyone else???
The size of the 1.2.1 firmware when i extract the contents is 785mb
How am i suppose to install this firmware i it cant evan fit on the systems memory???
Please help me out anyone.
