A patch for the gp2x which redirects the serial output to the USB cable. Together with the included WinXP driver, you can now use your USB cable as serial cable and read out the gp2x Shell! |

i installed the windows driver and when i ran the bash.gpe file my screen wen tblack on my GP2X. it never came back. the device installed but when i went into hyperterminal and choose COM5 (the new COM) i got nothing. should the screen on the GP2X stay black and what are the com settings for Hyperterminal. |
Mine did exactly the same thing, but on my winbox it is COM14. Tried many differnt seting for the com port still nothing. |
totally gave me a linux prompt. it does start out with white on white text. try typing "clear" first |

Note that this also works with MacOSX 10.4 (Tiger) without any driver on the Mac side. It creates /dev/tty.usbmodem01 for the device. You can use minicom (or any other serial port program) to access it. |
With Linux 2.6 it's working too!
Use minicom with device /dev/ttyACM0 and 9600 baudrate. |

it works on my linux 2.6 aswell, however, there is one complication, i cant see anything when i type, plus, it seems that it doesent go down to a new line when i press enter, though i think that may be because it isnt aware of the terminal type (probably needs /etc/terminfo on the gp2x) |

It works fine under Windows XP, just read the gp2x user guide for more info. HyperTerminal options are : 115200, 8, Parity None, Stop bit 1, Flow Control Xon / Xoff. After the driver install you must reboot the gp2x and relaunch hyperterminal. And ask HyperTerminal to use TTY emulation instead of ANSIW |

just a little detail... In bash.gpe, could you replace "rm -f *.txt" by "rm -f log.txt" please ? |
