Mine skips terribly when playing S3M and XM filetypes, is this a bug, or something else? |
am i being a bit thick ???? i cant get it to play anything!! it wont even see the files ???? help please |
For some reason it playes one file then stops, even when theres more than one file in the playlist. |
I'm having problems too, XM doesn't work, S3M keeps skipping but not on the windows version. |
some mods from nois2xa (great shoot-em-up) so not play, others do. .xm-files won't work at all. when mp3 and s3m/mod-files are mixed within a playlist, volume will jump to maximum between typechanges. Plz add "save playlist"! thanks for all the work! |
Looks nice, has a lot of features, only problem I am having is that it plays mp3s to fast. Once all the bugs are fixed it will deffinatly be better than the standard music player. |
well, maybe things aren't working 100% yet, but at least a lot does, I'm quite fond of it, it plays sids, a lot of amiga mods,NSF files and gym files (no vgz unfortunately).
It would be nice sseing new additions coming for oldplay, instead of having to install 638 different soundformat players (deliplayer, xmplay, sidplay etc etc). I wondered if it's possible to select multiple tracks, if they are present in a sid file ? |
Plays all my C64 sids perfectly, well done! |

Hi all. I didn't know it was even uploaded here so i havent seen your comments until now.
NinjaFae, send me one of each format that wont work (gmail adress: micketeer )
swearver: It wont even show the files? Email me some more details.
peetabix: Email me a somewhat detailed step-by-step on how you got that result, it shouldn't happen.
hclatwr: Send one of each please!
dabski: Send me one song that plays to fast (or is it all of them? i haven't noticed)
thecmen: vgz should work fine. Every archive i've tried works great (send me one that isn't working)

It just hit me that these comments might be old. Very old. Damn comments lack date. |

No. All sequencers i've found have been a real bitch, as well as the instrument data is quite big as well. I might look into Rockbox and try to port that. |
Micket you can try to implement timidy, like a lot of game ports do (duke, doom, wolf3d etc) |
all the best for the most handsome coder :) keep up the good work micket! |

Just wish to express my appreciation for this excellent player. I love you, and thanks for last night xxxxxxxxxxxxx |

Great player! PSF-support would rock. A 233MHz IBM-PC is capable of playing PSF1 with reverb and PSF2 without reverb so it shouldn't be impossible. It would also be neat to change the frequency upwards since turning it down too much crashes the player. Great work! |
oh.. and the playlist usually only play one file then stops, even if theres more files in the list. Have to start each song manually. |
sedsberg: I added support through porting sexypsf, but it's to heavy even when overclocking to 275 MHz.
And regarding playlists, that never happens to me. Send me a detailed description on how to reproduce this bug and i'll fix it ASAP. |
Oh, that would be PSF1, without reverb. But maybe sexypsf is just inefficient, becuase the source wasn't pretty to look at. |
the playlist problem occurs with some VBR mp3s, where it either doesn't, or incorrectly calculates the song length.
a current fix is to manually set the track length. |
Has anyone tried to play AAC files? AAC support was also declared in the previous release but the player notified an invalid format while I was trying to play such sort of files. |
MP3/OGG now plays excellent, but the pre set CPU frequency is still too low for vgm files (megadrive) and changing the speed manually often makes the player freeze. An option to freeze the CPU-speed at a set frequency would be nice. It's now the best player I have tried on the GP2X! |

Same as johnnysnet : AAC does not work. Apart from that, very nice player ! |
As usual people. Send me a bug report and preferably one or two examples to my gmail; micketeer. I really have played AAC files, so i would need ones that doesn't work to figure out the bug. There is an option to turn off the turns off the change of clock frequency (which lets you pick anything you want from gmenu2x when you start it). |
As for VBR songs, get a encoder which supports the Xing header (like lame). |
05/02/2008 13:20 BST - nice player, i like the features and the visual equaliser is cool... i still get a massive jump between off and minimum volume though :( its still too loud for me to use this in the office with my headphones. keep up the good work, hopefully the whole f200 issue with the volume will be sorted some day! |
05/02/2008 13:55 GMT - Hmm... thought you might like to know, its crashed on me twice now just generally navigating through the menu. Takes me back to the GP2X menu on my F200. |
My standard NSF rips of original Nintendo games aren't working right for more than one track. The first track will play perfectly fine, but all subsequent tracks will immediately fade out right at the beginning. Any ideas? |
I've a question about AAC again. Maybe there're another AAC format that has nothing to do with Advanced Audio Coding? I came to the suggestion because it is listed together with all the other old formats but isn't an old one itself. |
BtizeF200: I've lowered the lowest volume alot more now in version 1.32.
Skutarth: Yes i made a mistake when i wrote the customized default length. It is fixed in version 1.32.
johnnysnet: It is advanced audio codec. I haven't tried many songs, just some I encoded myself with FAAC. https://www.audiocoding.com
I can't debug anything if noone sends me bug reports. |

Works great. I've only tested midi and nsf though. The only problem is that in the new version the volume doesn't go nearly as loud. :( Maybe some people like this, but can you please make it configurable in a config file or something? Or is this already doable?
Thanks |

Great and useful and nostalgic :'-}
But: Size = 7 MB, Size on Disk = 13.5 MB, i.e. programmers should try to compile versions that store the resources in a single file, so you use the space on the SD card efficiently. :) Nice Work, keep it coming! |

Great player, I love it.
BTW
1) one thing that bothers me a little is that the batery meter doent work with FW 4.1.1. if i'm no worng it has something to do with the diferences in the meter api because before it was from 1000 to 0 anda now its from 4 to 0 meanin full normal low and empty, also it's no more a /dev , now it's an api.
2) the VBR MP3s lenghts is buggued and it says 2:31 when it actualy is 1:45 o so.
Sorry for bad inglesh :P |
This player is great, and love it. But 1) saddly I cant play tfmx files, from Turrican II and so. I did try rename to tfmx, zip both smpl and mdat do 1 file, and with no succes.
2) Next I want change the basic skin, because this one look bit strange, but dont understand what mean files *.font, what font format is it? I cant open it in any font editor. |
Excellent idea, impressive to support so many different formats. Unfortunately I find it a bit unstable and crashes quite often. Volume is muted upon launch which is a little inconvenient. Otherwise one of the best players for the gp2x :-D |
