A small DPAD-Mod which will add a better pivot to your DPAD.
NOTE: Opening up and modifying the DPAD probably voids your warranty. We take NO responsibility in case you're doing something wrong when modding! |

Ha Ha!
You gotta be kidding! |

You could have placed a small blob of glue stick or similar as a spacer on the D-Pad "bald spot" or even place a small blob on the actual board that causes a space/bump raised point where the pad is raised without modding anything I've used glue or glued pieces onto the PCB of the controller for other game systems and it worked. |

If the original nub was nylon and you've replaced it with a steel pin then you have likely created a serious wear point where the pin sits.
AsTar makes a good point about building up the point beneath the direction pad as well.
It looks like a fiddly job but the results look great.
I hope it works and holds up for you. |

I used this guide as a point of reference today, but with added a personal tweak. Instead of melting a pin into the pad, I glued a small square of plastic packaging (slightly thinner than a credit card) onto the PCB under the pivot point of the pad.
I found a credit card is too thick, but if you can find some packaging (similar to what most retail electronics come in), cut a piece about 1cm x 1cm, you should be just fine.
