Blockdude is a puzzle game where you need to be able to reach the exit by moving boxes, it's as simple as that. It is a remake of the Blockman Game from Soleau Software and the TI 83 Blockdude game by brandon sterner. There are 23 levels included. 21 Levels from the orginal blockman game and 2 levels created by me. The game has a built in level editor so you can create new levels on your own and release them as levelpacks. You can also play upto 25 of your own ogg/mod music files.And lastly there is skin support.

here's what's new in this release:
- Added support for external joysticks on the cradle.
- Added option to remap the external joystick button functions.
- Added fusion powers FP_Default2 skin

This is a great addition to the GP2X. I like the way (with Sokoban also) the game can be easily modified.

This game needs an undo facility.

Wait till you've pressed X instead of A in blockman:level 7 a couple of times and you'll see what I mean :)

hey thunor i've tried at least 3 times to fix the undo system but i just can't get it fixed due to the way i added in the game rules from blockdude in the sokoban engine. for example any floating block will start falling down so if u pushed a block of a floor onto a lower floor. The block if doing an undo will go up but imeadiatly fall down again instead of moving to where i came from and i just can't get it fixed :(

joyrider: I imagine that the level data is held in an array right? If so you could do this :-

Create an array to hold for example 10 copies of the level data. I suggest you implement this as linear i.e. it wraps around at both ends (I imagine you already know how to implement a linear array).
Copy the level data into our array and point to the next index.
Blockdude makes a move.
Copy the level data into our array and point to the next index.
The user presses 'undo'.
Restore the previous level data from our array.
Redraw the entire screen.

It is not important that the undo is animated. If you have designed your engine so that reverse animation is very difficult to implement then don't worry about it :)

How deep you go is up to you. I'm on blockman:level 8 now and the level is 27x16. Having an undo feature more than 10 deep would be better. If each tile is represented by a byte (char) then 20 deep would add just over 8KB to your memory requirements.

problem is the array holds no ints or chars or similar but it's actually a list of pointers to CWorldparts instances. the way i used my history system in sokoban was by adding a CHistory class to each CWorldpart item and doing a worldparts.addhistory for moveable objects when the player moves. if it was a simple array of ints i could have done that yes. But i'll give it another shot and see if i can't figure out another way. With my new game (blips which also uses the sokoban engine) i also have a problem there the instances can be deleted so the only solution i see is to create a 2nd copy of the list with all new instances and replace them with the current list and delete those i think that could work but i have no idea what memory usuage i'll have then
