| mine was a costructive criticism, a pong like this can be coded in about 2 minutes with sounds, pause, game over and all the things that little scum doesn't have. Andrew Williams is good, but a pong is totally unsuseful, and an ugly pong is quite worst.

Why don't you just spend 2 minutes of your precious time and do this better, if you think it's that easy? I assume the coder just started, and was happy he got more than "Hello World". At least this does more than that "GPS-Joke" or another single-icon-release. The version number is below 1, so expecting a complete release is quite stupid btw. So, Andrew, continue, maybe the final release will be a pretty neat version of the all-time-classic pong. |

I wrote a lot of coding tutorials in the past so i'm not a sort of monster that destroy the hopes of the newbie coders.. Simply he can do something more original, it's a fact.
For example, try to 1)improve the graphic, 2) add a left-right movement to the pads 3) add weapons and bonuses 4) add a button that can influence the movement of the ball, like a magnet or something like that and you will have always a pong-like game, but a bit more original... or better, make another arcade game from scratch! |

| Whoa! A flamewar about my little game! I'm sure I could have done a better job, but the reason I made Pong first is that it's dead easy and I wanted to see how fast I could make something on the GP2X. The source code is included and shortly after I posted that, somebody modified it to make a 2-player version. That's exactly the sort of thing I was hoping for - I wasn't trying to make an interesting version of Pong, just something that looked like the original while I got used to coding for the GP2X.
I think there's lots of room in the homebrew scene for people to just do what they want. After all, it's fun to just tinker with silly games and silly game ideas.
