A WIP GameBoy / GameBoy Color Emulator.
Updates from version 0.4:
- New graphical modes: Notaz scale on gpSP, Scale2x, Scale53x. - Fixed a bug on the palette change function and on the clock menu. - Great changes on core to make it portable (Wiz/Pandora). Includes Pickle's Wiz code. - Internal clock advance for games that support it (Pokemon Gold). - New default config for A button, as a lot of people asked, so it's no longer necessary to edit the config file. - Preliminar support for SuperGameboy. Borders work well, but not palettes. An option to save SGB border and use it on normal mode is included. - Fixed lots bugs. |

WHAT? FInally! a new gameboy emulator! Thank you! I downloading it right now! |
Everytime I use it it freezes (when selecting a rom). Im using version 3.0(firmware). Im so confused........... |
Even though the readme says gb,gbc or zip.....................it only plays zip. Also could you make it an option to trick the roms into thinking they are being played on a Gba (Ages, Seasons). Thanks |
good emulator. better than gnuboy! |
You sir are now officially my hero. This is the only Gameboy emulator I have been able to make work on my F200... besides that it is also a very visually attractive program. May you go on to work wonders for emulators of other such systems... and keep this one updated. |
Spadoof, it does load .gb and .gbc. I have just double checked and it works. Anyway, .zip is much better since it saves space in the SD. I never own a GBA and I don't know what you mean, so implementing that feature is not possible for me.
Momosxp, actually gnuboy2x is slightly faster. I can't understand why, since I use the same code that gnuboy2x did. The difference in speed is noticeable in the latter GBC games (Shantae, Alone in the Dark) and in some GB games (Toystoy). Most games play the same in both emulators (Marios, Warios, Zeldas...) Anyway, I think that the many enhancements of lemonboy compensate for its worse performance in only a few games, and you can solve this overclocking lemonboy.
Dusk, graphics are by Madcore. Years ago, they were going to be the skin for the next Gnuboy2x version, until that K-teto lost most of his source code, his Gp2x and abandoned the emulator.
I want to stress that lemonboy2x is a port of Gilgamesh's and Laguna's PC-Gnuboy and it includes many source by K-teto (gnuboy2x's author), Puck2099 (from AlexKidd) and Notaz (from Gpfce2x and Gshot).
Thanks, spadoof, momosxp and dusk for your comments! |

Juanwc: The feature I was talking about is a simple feature that makes the the gb/gbc rom think that it is being played on a gameboy advanced. On games like Legend of Zelda: oracle of Ages/Seasons, it allowed you to enter shops only accesable if you were playing on a gba (A ploy to get people still playing gameboy color to switch over to gba). Anyways, this feature was included in another gbc emulator i liked by the name of "Homersrin". I know you never had a GBA but if you get a chance to look at it, it would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for a great emu thus far!

THIS IS COMPLETE BULLSHIT IT GOES BLANK ON THE DEVICE CANT PEOPLE MENTION THAT IT DOESNT WORK ON F200 models fucks |
Good one! A GB/GBC-Emulator that works just fine (GnuBoy didn't work for me). Thanks! |
@dj2bklyn: By the way, I HAVE F200. |
great! (works on f100 firmare 4.1.0)
nice and fun :)
beter than (the old) gnuboy |
Great Emulator, does everything really well and has a great interface.
Cheat device would be nice, and a turbo would be cool also.
Been great fun replaying Pokemon games once again :) |
@dj2bklyn: I have an F200 running firmware 4.0 (so I cant vouch for 4.1.0), and this emulator works perfectly, I've never had a problem with it (or at least I cant recall any), you should clear it from your SD card and try re-installing it. (provided you have firmware 4.0... otherwise just do whatever) |
@juanvvc: I've come to notice that if you press 'A' in game (GP2X's A, not emulated A) then it will cycle between 'Double Size' and 'Deformed Double Size'. While I have never liked shoftcut buttons like this myself, I feel that if you are going to do that then it should cycle through all of the resolutions... or perhaps it not doing that is an error on my end? Regardless, if this could be modified to work the way I suggested, that would be great. |
Dusk, the resolutions that the A button cycles are configurable in the gp2x.conf file. See the README and CONFIG files for more information. Thanks everybody for your comments! |

This is great.. not confusing menu controls like gnuboy2x. (I always manage to exit game/emulator by accident)
I don't know if you still work on this, but would it be possible to add SGB support for games such as Pokémon Blue? To get the palettes and if possible also borders. And for GBC games that has SGB borders such as Pokémon Gold it would be awesome to have GBC palette but SGB border still.
OR, if there's a good way to extract SGB borders from a rom and make it fit as a frame on the gp2x screen. (I tried a screendump and cut it out it Photoshop, but it has a strange aspect ratio and didn't fit the gp2x screen very well)
But real SGB support would obviously be better than having to manually screendump, edit and save as a frame in the emulator folder.
Anyway, great emulator! =) |

I love the GUI on this, that was my only complaint about gnuboy and this does it well. |
