This is a DOSBOX version of Supaplex (the world's best boulder-dash style game) tuned and configured for DosBox on the GP2X. Sound has been disabled as it sounds rubbish and slows the game down. The game more than adequatley playable, and when you quit the game it saves the level you are up to for next time.
Use the stick for movement, START to enter the menu, SELECT to quit, and B to start the game.... hold B and press a movement key during gameplay to pick from a spot without moving into it (same as PC version).
This is the Speedfix version of SupaPlex downloaded legally from elmerproductions.
Oh and by the way.... you can play this version under Windows XP as well.... just run speedfix63.exe to continue your game on any Windows XP PC :D
Enjoy :)
P.S. If anyone has any luck improving the config for this game, please get in touch with me (or leave a comment) and let me know what you've done and how. I'd love to get sound going but I am having no luck. |

Oh also if you want to post your level records on here (a level record being the highest level you achive without getting stuck) that's cool too.... I should point out I've completed this game several times.... there are 113 levels in total.
This is just the first of many dos games I intend to either: recode natively, port, or incorporate via DosBox. I have noticed there are many fantastic games that haven't yet been run on a GP2X.... I intend to get as many as I can to work :D |

Have you ever taken a look at "rocks and diamonds"? That's an SDL implementation of Sokoban, Boulder Dash and Superplex. It's got several levelsets and also different tilesets. The menu is even fun to look at... why not porting that? It's open source!!1 |

I had already supaples on dosbox, it's freeware... and my config is with sound too |

Eclips3, could you send me your config possibly please? I didn't see Supaplex on the site or on the Wiki so naturally I'd assumed nobody had done it yet.... thus did it myself.
As for Rocks And Diamonds, I'll give it a look and hopefully will be able to port it (not tried porting yet) to the GP2X and maybe "improve" it in some ways.
Thanks guys |
