This file is originally included with Noiz2sa from notaz.
With this file it is possible to reduce screen tearing and remove stutter on firmware 1.1.0 in many games. Here's an example for Quake 2:
Copy the file pollux_dpc_set to the Quake 2 folder.
Now edit q2.gpe:
#!/bin/sh
./cpufreq --freq 750 ./pollux_dpc_set 'lcd_timings=397,1,37,277,341,0,17,337;clkdiv0=9' ./sdlquake2 +set vid_ref softsdl +set s_khz 22 #for a timedemo run add +set timedemo 1 +map demo1.dm2 cd /usr/gp2x/ ./gp2xmenu
Add the line starting with ./pollux... to the wrapper script. Now the application runs with changed display timings to reduce tearing and stutter on firmware 1.1.0. Do not change the values after lcd_timings exept you know what you're doing. Use an Unix compatible editor like Notepad++.
With this solution there is no performance hit but possible shorter battery life. Only the display timings are changed. The tearing is not complete eliminated with this, but I hardly noticed any tearing in Quake 2 or Noiz2sa.
Credits go to notaz and Exophase. Thanks guys!
