This is an improved version of Freecell which is similar to the win-version. I hope you enjoy it.

- A serious bug is fixed which could cause an untimely loss of the game.
- some changes of the control

A nice, fun, stable game.

The controls are good but after playing it just a few times I've identified something that could be made easier: selecting and moving cards from the free cells back down involves many moves. Once the card in the free cell has been selected, then the pointer needs to be manually moved down to the piles which is the only valid destination for it anyway. Then it needs to be moved to the pile where the card can be legally placed. You could for example automatically place the pointer at the first available pile where the card could be legally placed whereby all the user needs to do it press a button to release the card. This would be very easy to implement, would save the user many unneccessary joystick presses and make the game more accessible.

Thanks for you detailed comment :) Because I found a serious bug recently which causes a game loss even though there is still a legal move, you can be sure the next update will come! Then I think about to implement the thing you suggest.
This is a great version of freecell for our GP2X, thanks a bunch! The controls were very intuitive, a pleasant surprise for many games, unfortunately. Love how you can by default use the A/Y buttons instead of the lower X/B buttons. (My B button is under constant abuse by most games and is getting a but unresponsive.)

The modifications to the controls have made a big difference.

I've been playing this game almost everyday since you released it, and if you plan on developing it further I have a few things that you may want to consider, and one that might fall out of the scope of this project :-
  • Add wrapping to the free cells: it's not intuitive to be dropped back down to the bottom of the stacks
  • When selecting a game, save the last value entered to the configuration file: running the game again resets the game to 1 and I'd like the game to remember the last game I selected, not me
  • When exiting a game early with "Exit", it says "Do you want to give up?", but I don't want to give up (it affects my statistics), it's just that I have other things to do and I'd like to resume the game later on: this would involve saving the current game's state and restoring it automatically
And onto the modification that may be beyond what you want to do with this project :) :-
  • Record the games that I have completed [visually] and not select them again
These are just ideas based on long term usage, and the game is very playable in it's current state.

Viel Dank fuer ein grosses Spiel
Thanks a lot. Your comments are very constructive. But I have to disappoint you because I will not work longer on that game although you made good suggestions.
