xBaK is a fan-made remake of the classic Sierra computer RPG "Betrayal at Krondor" running on linux. xBaK is basicly a game engine, that uses the data files that came with the original game by Sierra Online. You should already have your own copy of "Betrayal at Krondor", the required data files are NOT distributed with xBaK. The xBaK engine is licensed under the GPL. xBaK is being developed on linux, using SDL for portability.

Note: Its best considered a demo at this point, not an actual playable game.

one of the best 3d rpg ever!!! was also released as freeware for a limited period of time in 1998 to publicize the launch of the official sequel Return to Krondor. Many sites says that's freeware but it's not!

Is there plans to make it playable or better yet complete? I still have the answers to the riddle chest in my head after all these years. I would be willing to help

Contact the original author if you want to help with the development. He works on it from time to time, there have been updates since 0.1.3, but nothing worth making another GP2X release. Ive tried to help with some bug fixing, but it is diffiuclt as you have to reverse engineer the game data with no documentation.

The is an error in the .gpe file. The file references itself so it will run until no memory available. Change line ./xBak.gpe to ./xBak.bin Overclocking seems not to work either but will proof on that
