=== Mister Block ===

Mister Block, the most imaginative guy around, is looking for his blue blocks. In order to get at them, he has to navigate mazes plagued with traps - why he keeps his blocks in mazes plagued with traps is still unbeknown to anyone, but I digress.

Red blocks -> Death
Blue blocks -> What you want to get
Green blocks -> Level flip
White blocks -> Wall - can't go through this
Other blocks are powerups. There is a super jump and invincibility powerup - see if you can figure out which is which!

Once you've got all the blue blocks, you can move on to the next level.

== Controls ==

Left/Right on stick = Left/Right
B = Jump
L = Restart level
Start = Pause
Select = Exit game
R = Enter level selector

Whilst in level selector:
Left/Right = Change level
L/R = Change level by 5
B = Play level
Select = Exit game
A = Edit level
Y = Insert level before current and edit

Enjoy!

== Level Editing ==

IMPORTANT: If you add, delete or change the order of levels, you must delete (or suitably edit) data/user/hiscore, or all the high scores will be messed up.

There are two ways you can edit levels.

1) A graphic manipulation program of your choice (yes, Paint will do)

As of Mister Block v1.0, levels are stored in .png format. These are essentially small image versions of the levels. Each tile is represented by a pixel. The colours need to be exact values for the level to work properly - for information on how to draw in exact RGB value colours, check the documentation for your graphics program. The colours are as follows:

Tile (colour)		Red	Green	Blue
--------------------------------------------
Empty space (black)	0	0	0
Wall (white)		255	255	255
Death (red)		255	0	0
Blue (blue)		0	0	255
Flip (green)		0	255	0
Invincibility (yellow)	255	255	0
Super jump (orange)	255	128	0

Levels can be any size between 4x3 tiles and 160x120 tiles. The default level size (which the level editor uses and which was the only size prior to v1.0) is 40x30. For speed reasons, a tile width and a tile height of a multiple of 2 is recommended (40x30 gives 8x8, 80x30 gives 4x8, 80x60 gives 4x4 - tiles like these will be faster. 50x30 gives 6.4x8, which will round to 6x8 - tiles like these will mean slowdowns). The best level sizes to choose are 40x30 or 80x60. 80x60 can provide a huge level with plenty of detail. Very small and very large levels may break the engine and are not well tested. An example of a larger-than-default level is flipitlarge.png, contained in data/levels.

Mister Block will always begin the level at halfway down the left-hand side of the screen - that is, tile 1,15 if using 40x30, tile 1,30 if using 80x60, etc.

After you have created your level, save it as a PNG with the .png extension. Add the name of your level (minus the .png) to level-list. The levels in level-list are played in the order they appear in the file. It is advised that you put your level before the "youwin" level unless you're creating your own "You Win" level.

2) Level Editor (by Sam Turner)

The Mister Block level editor allows you to edit levels on the GP2X. It can load both old Mister Block text levels and new .png levels, and saves to .png level files. However, it does not have support for editing levels larger or smaller than 40x30. If you do edit and save such a level in the level editor, you will lose (or gain) some tiles so it fits 40x30 exactly. The editor has its own help screen and is pretty self-explanatory.

-- If you have created a level, send it to nickspoon0@gmail.com or post it on the GP32x.com forums and it may be included in Mister Block.

* The following level format is no longer implemented. If you have levels in that format, open them in the level editor then save them. They will be converted into the new image format. Afterwards, delete the text files from data/levels. *

Each level is a large text file. It contains a 40*30 grid of characters. If you can't be bothered to make a grid, there is one in data/levels/empty. You'll notice it is full of the letter e, and for very good reason.

e - empty space
w - wall
f - flip square
d - death square
b - blue square (goal)
s - super jump powerup
i - invincibility powerup

By replacing tiles (tiles are 8*8 squares) with those letters, you can construct any level you want.
Be aware that Mister Block always starts halfway down the left side of the screen - that's Column 1, Line 15.
After creating your level, you must add it to the file data/levels/level-list in order to play it. The levels are played in the order in level-list. The numbers in data/user/hiscore correspond to each level in data/levels/level-list, in that order.
